Howden India has appointed Suresh Subramanium as executive vice president and head of employee benefits for western India, the broker announced in a LinkedIn post on Thursday.
Based in Mumbai, Subramanium joins the role with more than 25 years of experience in employee benefits, business management and client advisory.
Prior to the appointment, he served as executive vice president and zonal leader for the employee benefits practice at Howden Insurance Brokers India. He has also held senior roles at WTW, Prudential Insurance Brokers, Mercer Marsh Benefits and Global Insurance Brokers.
Earlier in his career, Subramanium worked in business development and consulting roles across the insurance broking and advisory sectors, with a focus on strategic planning, key account management and employee benefits.
Howden said his appointment strengthens its employee benefits leadership team and enhances its ability to deliver client-focused solutions across the western India market.
The appointment forms part of a series of recent leadership moves by Howden across Asia, with the broker naming Anthony Hong as head of surety for Asia, Cindy Yeo as director for M&A in Asia, Alaric Lee as chief executive officer of Hong Kong, Cyndi Villamor as chief client officer for corporate risk services in the Philippines, and Ram KS as growth leader for sales in India.
