Swiss Re has named Isabel Rawlence as senior client manager for its Public Sector Solutions division in Australia and New Zealand.

In her new role, Rawlence will report to Bo Jiang, Director and Head of Public Sector Solutions for ANZ.

“This appointment is an important step in strengthening our Public Sector Solutions capability and reflects our commitment to being a trusted, forward-thinking partner to government clients across the region,” Jiang said in a LinkedIn post on Friday.

The move marks a return to the private sector for Rawlence, who previously held an underwriting manager role at the Australian Reinsurance Pool Corporation (ARPC). During her tenure there, she led the statutory onboarding of all legislatively mandated insurers and executed multidisciplinary engagement strategies to align insurer relations with enterprise objectives, while also providing senior leadership as acting executive manager.

“Isabel brings deep expertise and a strong client-first mindset, which will play a key role as we continue to invest in and grow our presence in the PSS space.”

Rawlence’s appointment continues the spate of hiring activity from Swiss Re in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region in 2025. This includes Cheryl Tang’s appointment as senior cyber underwriter for APAC in November and Sunayana Mahansaria as Head of Life & Health Reinsurance, India in October.
