Swiss Re Corporate Solutions has given Jacqueline McCarthy additional responsibilities as expert underwriter, casualty ANZ, with Matt Sheffield, casualty portfolio leader for ANZ, announcing the appointment on LinkedIn.
McCarthy joined Swiss Re Corporate Solutions as senior casualty underwriter in July 2024, a post she held for two years before stepping into the expert underwriter role this month.
Before Swiss Re, she spent seven years at AIG and nine years at QBE prior to that. She started her career at Marsh.
“This role expands Jacqui’s underwriting authority, increasing local decision-making capability and supporting our market-unit structure through greater empowerment in-country,” Sheffield said.
“Jacqui’s appointment reflects her deep technical expertise and strong contribution to our casualty business, and we look forward to her continued leadership in strengthening our underwriting capability across ANZ,” he added.
McCarthy’s appointment follows two other Swiss Re Corporate Solutions moves in ANZ this year: Zoe Pearn’s appointment as head of operations for ANZ in May, and Robert Kell’s appointment as customer and distribution manager, ANZ, in March.
