The Pacific Insurance Berhad (TPIB) has named Florence Chang Siow Mei as its new chief executive officer, effective 24 March 2026, the Malaysia-based insurer announced late Wednesday.

Chang has over 25 years of experience in the general insurance industry across underwriting, broking, agency development, bancassurance, and reinsurance. Before joining Fairfax-backed TPIB, she was country head of brokers management and head of commercial insurance at Zurich General Insurance Malaysia, where she oversaw several entities in both conventional and takaful businesses.

Commenting on the appointment, Datuk Shaharuddin bin Md Som, chairman of the board of directors, said: “TPIB is entering a new phase of its journey. With her extensive industry knowledge, strategic leadership, and strong execution capabilities, Florence is well-positioned to lead TPIB’s next phase of growth.”

Gobi Athappan, executive director of TPIB and chairman and CEO of Fairfax Asia Limited, added: “We are excited to welcome Florence to our TPIB family. With Florence at the helm, we are reinforcing a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability that will carry us forward.”
