Willis (WTW) has appointed Daniel Choi as leader of its Financial & Executive Risks (FINEX) business in Malaysia, the global broker announced on Monday.
Choi joined Willis Malaysia six months ago, bringing more than two decades of experience across the insurance industry.
Before joining Willis, he worked for over five years at BIB Insurance Brokers, where he most recently served as unit head of financial lines. Before that, he spent more than 11 years at Jardine Lloyd Thompson Malaysia.
He also brings significant claims management experience, having previously handled non-motor claims at Allianz General Insurance and marine claims at MSIG Insurance (Malaysia).
A law graduate, Choi specialises in financial lines in the Malaysian market and has delivered numerous strategic, client-focused solutions.
“His deep market relationships and technical expertise, including cyber, will be instrumental as we continue to strengthen our FINEX platform and drive sustainable growth in Malaysia,” Jeremy Wall, global head of FINEX, said in a LinkedIn post welcoming Choi to the role.
The appointment follows a series of senior hires and promotions across Willis’ Asia-Pacific operations. Recent additions include Chintan Aashwini, who joined the broker’s regional mergers and acquisitions team as director, and Mareli Vermeulen, who was appointed head of M&A, Asia, within the FINEX business.
