Talbot Underwriting has elevated Jiewei Pang to senior property underwriter and Russell Giam to underwriter for political risk, both based in Singapore, Rob Hands, the firm’s chief executive officer in Singapore, announced on LinkedIn on Monday.

Pang joined the company in 2022 as a property underwriter and has more than 10 years of industry experience, with prior stints at Argenta Underwriting Asia and Zurich Insurance Company. Giam joined the business last year, bringing 15 years of experience, including time at Allianz Trade and QBE Insurance.

“They have both played a significant role in Talbot’s continued success across APAC,” Hands said, commenting on their promotion.

The announcement follows Grace Yap’s appointment as property underwriter in Singapore late last month.

Talbot operates as part of the AIG group via Lloyd’s, with headquarters in London and offices in New York and Singapore, and more than 300 staff across the three locations. It writes across more than 20 specialty lines, including property, marine, aviation, and political risk.
