Swiss Re has appointed Yusuke Matsumoto as the Head of Facultative Reinsurance APAC, strengthening its leadership bench, the reinsurer announced on LinkedIn.

Matsumoto joined Swiss Re in 2013 and has progressed through underwriting and regional leadership roles over the past decade. Most recently, he led facultative property Japan, alongside regional underwriting and portfolio steering and facultative property APAC portfolios.

“Yusuke brings extensive experience in business and product development, along with a strong track record of underwriting excellence and building high-performing teams,” the company said.

Matsumoto assumed the role in February and is based in Tokyo.

The latest appointment adds to a series of recent leadership changes across Swiss Re in APAC. The reinsurer has recently named Anna Ziswiler as head of P&C Reinsurance for Southeast Asia, India, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea.  Devpriya Misra was also appointed to lead its newly established Credit and Surety hub for APAC, the Middle East and Africa, last month.
