Zurich has promoted Kin Lee to head of energy for Asia-Pacific within its commercial business, the insurer announced on Wednesday.
Based in Singapore, Lee has been with the insurer since 2023 and is currently serving as head of onshore energy. He brings over 16 years of industry experience. Before relocating to Singapore and joining Zurich, he worked at AIG in Melbourne for over 13 years, most recently as head of energy, Pacific. He also previously held senior underwriting roles across energy, property, and construction in Asia and Australia and New Zealand.
In his new role, Lee will work across the region to support and develop underwriting capabilities, strengthen distribution partnerships, enhance portfolio management, and develop new product capabilities, Zurich said in its announcement.
Commenting on the move, Liam Burrell, CEO Singapore and head of commercial insurance, Asia, added: “Kin’s deep expertise across energy lines will undoubtedly deliver greater value to our customers, broker partners, and in-country teams.”
Lee’s promotion follows another appointment in Zurich’s commercial insurance unit, with Giles Crowley taking on the newly created role of head of customer and distribution management for Asia-Pacific. It also adds to a number of leadership appointments for Zurich’s operations in the region, including Digbijoy Shukla as head of its regional digital business, with Roopa Malhotra moving to an executive role in Japan, and Wayne Leow as Malaysia commercial insurance head.
