Aon has named Sean Deehan as chief executive officer of its strategy and technology group for Asia Pacific, effective immediately, the broker announced on Tuesday.
Based in Hong Kong, Deehan joins from Willis Towers Watson, where he most recently served as Greater China divisional leader and head of Hong Kong and Macau.
He brings more than 25 years of experience across insurance, consulting, strategy and risk management. Earlier in his career, he held senior leadership positions, including chief executive and executive director of Standard Life (Asia).
Reporting to Sherif Zakhary, global CEO of Aon’s Strategy and Technology Group and Inpoint, Deehan will oversee the firm’s advisory, analytics and technology offering in the region. His responsibilities include broadening the adoption of Aon’s Life Risk Modelling Suite, including the PathWise actuarial modelling platform.
“Asia Pacific represents a significant growth opportunity for our team, and Sean will play a key role in expanding our capabilities, strengthening collaborations and delivering even greater value for clients across the region,” said Zakhary.
Deehan’s appointment follows other leadership hires across Aon’s Asia Pacific operations. The broker recently appointed Ee Yen Lin as regional director within its transaction solutions team, Jess Kang as head of data and analytics for APAC, Taranjeet Walia as senior client director, commercial risk solutions & growth in India, and Matthew Chae as growth leader, life and health reinsurance for Korea.
