Lockton has appointed Shrungar Bhuva as vice president of transaction liability in India, expanding its transactional risk team in the country, the broker said in a LinkedIn update.
Bhuva is a transactional lawyer with nearly seven years of experience advising institutional investors, financial sponsors, sovereign wealth funds and multinational organisations on complex public and private market transactions.
She joins Lockton from Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co, where she was a senior associate.
“Bhuva’s deep transactional and regulatory expertise enables her to help our clients navigate intricate deal dynamics with tailored risk management strategies,” Lockton said.
Bhuva’s appointment follows the recent joining of Jaideep Sharma as CEO of Lockton India. Sharma returned to Lockton from Moody’s Analytics in May, taking over from Mohamed Yahya Ibrahim.
Her appointment also comes as Lockton builds out its transactions team in Asia, hiring Faith Swee and Jamie He as senior vice presidents in its APAC transaction liability team last month. The broker also appointed Robert Whitworth as senior vice president in its transaction liability Asia Pacific practice in March.
Lockton’s hiring push comes as Asia’s transactional risk market continues to attract new capacity, while claims activity and market maturity increase.
Terrence Montgomery, Lockton’s Asia-Pacific head of M&A transaction liability, previously said the region’s diverse regulatory and deal-making environments are driving continued demand for experienced underwriting teams.
