bolttech has appointed Emma Butler as chief executive officer, APAC, with immediate effect, succeeding Philip Weiner, who has been named chief executive officer for North America, the insurtech announced on Wednesday.
Butler most recently served as the regional manager for Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam. She was part of AmTrust Mobile Solutions Asia in 2015 before it was acquired and integrated into bolttech.
She brings more than two decades of experience across insurance, banking and retail in Asia and Europe. She also held senior roles for financial and industry tech firms including Currys plc, Paymentshield and Lloyds Banking Group.
Moving to North America for his new role, Weiner is a founding member of bolttech’s executive team and has held several senior roles across the group, including group chief data officer and chief commercial officer for Asia and Europe.
He brings over 20 years of industry experience with expertise in technology, data and AI. Before founding bolttech, he served as the chief executive of Reconnect. He also previously held senior leadership positions at FWD Insurance, Manulife and Sun Life Financial.
Group CEO Rob Schimek said Butler and Weiner have “strong track records and a deep understanding of our business, markets and partners”, adding that the appointments provide continuity as bolttech pursues its long-term growth strategy.
The appointments follow other recent senior leadership announcements made by the insurtech. Earlier this year, bolttech named Kohei Watanabe general manager for Japan and former MoneyHero CEO Rohith Murthy as general manager for Malaysia.
The company also added two senior hires to its Singapore team, with Jeremy Khaw appointed as director of business development and operations and Mandy Liaw as agency manager for GI partnerships and business development.
