Aon has made two leadership appointments for Japan Global Solutions (JGS), its network of professionals serving multinational clients in the country, the broker said on Thursday.

Naoki Kido has joined Aon as global head of JGS, effective 30 September 2026, while Yuki Tanemura has been appointed global chief commercial officer and head of North America for JGS, effective 1 January 2027. Both appointments are subject to applicable regulatory requirements.

Kido will be based in Tokyo and report to Craig Torgius, chief client officer and head of enterprise clients, Asia Pacific.

He has more than two decades of experience working with Japanese multinational organisations. Most recently, he was practice leader of WTW’s Japan Global Practice Group for North America. He previously held senior roles with the group in EMEA and North America.

Tanemura has been with Aon for 20 years, holding leadership roles across Japan, Southeast Asia and the US, with a focus on multinational clients in Japan. In his expanded role, he will focus on accelerating commercial growth, deepening client engagement and strengthening collaboration across the Global Solutions network. Based in Chicago, Tanemura will report to Kido.

“Kido and Tanemura bring complementary strengths that will help deepen connectivity and continue to deliver a more seamless experience for clients both in Japan and internationally,” said Masahito (Max) Hirai, CEO of Japan, Aon.

Their appointments, he said, reflect Aon’s long-term commitment to the Japanese market. The broker has been building out its insurance broking business in the country since acquiring a licence in January.

It has also announced several senior appointments across its Asia Pacific business this year. Aon recently appointed Natsuko Kato as deputy director, transaction solutions, Asia, and named Nelumi Jayasundara senior associate for APAC Transaction Solutions. In August, Kayo Montgomery moved to Japan as Asia strategic account manager.

Meanwhile, Jane Drummond, Aon’s current chief commercial officer for Asia Pacific, will be promoted to global chief commercial officer from 1 January 2027.
