Howden has appointed Udit Pandya as senior vice president of employee benefits in India, as the broker continues to expand its presence in the country.

Based in Mumbai, Pandya brings more than two decades of industry experience spanning business development, sales, insurer engagement, placement and healthcare solutions.

He joins from Gallagher, where he served as head of placements for employee health and benefits. His previous roles include leadership positions at Assurekit Technologies, UIB Insurance Brokers, HealthIndia Insurance TPA Service and MD India Healthcare Services.

Announcing the appointment on Wednesday, Howden said Pandya had built a “reputation for driving sustainable growth, fostering long-term stakeholder relationships, and delivering client-centric solutions that create lasting value”.

The appointment follows a series of hires as Howden expands its India operations after a restructuring in March that brought the business under its Asia region.

Earlier this month, Howden appointed Mohd Inam as executive vice president (EVP) for business development in India.

In September, Abhinav Gujral joined as president and head of strategic initiatives for employee benefits in India. In June, the broker appointed Deepti Sharma as EVP and growth leader of sales, while Bhushan Raorane joined as EVP for property and risk management.
