Mike Baker moves to Howden as Chief Client Officer, Asia

Baker joins from Aon and will be responsible for growth of the large client segment, focusing on complex risks including energy, cyber, climate, and political.

Howden today announced the appointment of Mike Baker as Chief Client Officer for Asia, with immediate effect. He will be based in Singapore and report directly to Goh Chye Huat, CEO of Howden Asia.

In his new role, Baker is tasked with the responsibility of developing Howden’s proposition for large clients within the region, concentrating on delivering services to multinational companies and organisations grappling with complex issues such as energy transition, cyber threats, climate, and political risks.

He will work closely with Howden’s broader Multinational Client Practice team, utilising the group’s extensive network, expertise, reinsurance, and analytical resources to support clients.

Mike brings exceptional market knowledge and broking expertise, which, combined with his experience in developing and leading strategies for major corporates, will bring considerable value to our clients in Asia.

Baker has extensive industry experience and an international background, which has seen him in underwriting and broking positions in London, Sydney, and Singapore. He moved to Howden from Aon, where he was Strategic Account Manager, and his experience also includes a nine-year tenure at WTW, where he held several senior positions, notably as Head of Corporate, Property & Casualty, and Global Client Relationship Manager.
