Catherine Soyka is taking on the role of Assistant Vice President, Reinsurance Underwriting for Oceania at Everest Re, according to the company’s Asia Pacific Head of Talent Acquisition, Jenny Webb, in a LinkedIn post on Tuesday, 29 July.

Based in Singapore, Soyka joins from Chaucer, where she has been working since 2019. Her most recent role is Class Underwriter for Property Treaty.

She brings extensive experience in treaty underwriting in the APAC region, having previously worked at AXA XL and XL Catlin over the past 15 years.

Commenting on the appointment, Kevin Bogardus, Everest Re Chief Executive for APAC, stated: “Soyka’s experience and insight will further strengthen our team and enhance the value we deliver to our partners across the region.”

Soyka is the latest personnel change across Everest Re’s regional business. In June, the firm promoted Himanshu Garg as Head of New Business Initiatives for APAC, while creating a new Korea Desk with Brian Jee appointed as Division Head.
