HDI taps Steven Tang as Underwriting Manager, Chris Yang as Senior Underwriter for HK engineering team

Both Tang and Yang are joining HDI Global from SCOR Business Solutions.

HDI Global has announced new additions to its Engineering team in Hong Kong, with Steven Tang named as Underwriting Manager and Chris Yang as Senior Underwriter for North Asia, according to a LinkedIn post on Friday.

Tang moves to HDI Global after spending over 20 years at SCOR Business Solutions, most recently as Head of Construction for the Asia Pacific. He brings extensive experience leading major infrastructure projects, including Hong Kong’s MTR lines and Taiwan’s Kaohsiung Metro Line Yellow Line.

Yang, who will report to Tang, also joins from SCOR, where he served as APAC Construction Underwriter, Specialty Insurance. With over 20 years of experience, he has held roles at Allianz Global and Sinopec in Hong Kong, as well as the China Reinsurance Group in Shanghai, specialising in property, engineering, and energy (re)insurance.

In June, HDI Global expanded its APAC leadership team, appointing Haris Michaels as the Singapore-based Engineering Underwriting Manager, Australasia and promoting Stevan Bonic to Underwriting Manager, Engineering, Australasia. More recently, on 6 August, HDI Global Australia hired Tom Hansen as Senior Liability Underwriter & EIL Technical Lead, operating out of Brisbane.
