Price Forbes has named Eric Wang Mingchao as its new Head of Affinity in Singapore, the company announced in a media release on 8 September.
Wang joins from SinoAsia Affinity, where he was general manager of the affinity division. He will report to Julian Coates, Chief Broking Officer, Price Forbes Singapore. At Price Forbes, he will oversee the company’s facultative reinsurance portfolio across key affinity products, including extended warranty, auto and finance, accidental damage protection, screen cover, payment protection, contingency, pet insurance, and personal accident.
He brings over 15 years of industry experience to his new role, along with expertise in affinity insurance programme development and management. He also held numerous roles with insurers across Asia, including QBE, Marsh China, AON-COF, Crawford Australia in Hobart, and YinDun Insurance Broker.
Philip Johnson, CEO of Price Forbes Asia Pacific noted that “Affinity is a key growth pillar for us across Asia Pacific, and the opportunities are vast; from electric and traditional vehicles & batteries to payment protection, contingency solutions, pet insurance and more.” He then said Wang “will play a central role in building innovative, customer-centric partnerships” across the dynamic markets in the region.
Commenting on his appointment, Wang said he looks forward “to driving affinity growth, building a high-performing team, and developing long-term partnerships that deliver both strategic and sustainable outcomes.”
Wang’s appointment comes after another senior hire in the region in the last three months, with Price Forbes naming Suvimol Sathanart as Head of Property, Asia, in June.
