Arch Insurance Australia has appointed Joe Donovan as deputy regional manager while promoting Marita Elliott to head of underwriting operations and compliance, according to a statement issued on 11 December.
Donovan has been with Arch for more than eight years, most recently serving as claims manager, and brings nearly 15 years of market experience. His earlier career included claims roles at Chubb and Zurich.
In his new position, he will oversee cross-functional collaboration to strengthen product capability, service delivery and operational efficiency, while continuing to lead claims management. He reports to regional manager Dominic Brannigan.
Brannigan said Donovan’s “wealth of technical and market knowledge will be critical as we continue to deliver more impactful products and services and further enhance our reputation as a responsive partner to our brokers.”
Marita Elliott, meanwhile, brings more than 25 years of industry experience, has worked at Arch since 2015 and was most recently underwriting operations and compliance manager. Her background also includes underwriting positions at DUAL Australia, Ace Group, and CGU.
Based in Melbourne, Elliott will support underwriting strategy across binder and open-market business and reports to Donovan.
The announcements follow other recent appointments made by the company, including Melissa Corrigan as business development manager and Jacqueline Kilday as senior professional indemnity underwriter.
