Manulife promotes albert mak to chief agency officer for hong kong and macau

Manulife Hong Kong and Macau on Monday announced that Albert Mak has been promoted to Chief Agency Officer, effective as of November 1.

In his new role, Mak will oversee the business’s 10,000-strong agency force across the Hong Kong and Macau territories, as well as the team’s sales, productivity, and recruitment goals, Manulife said. He reports to Asia Rishi Srivastava, Chief Agency Officer, and Ivan Chan, Chief Distribution Officer for Hong Kong and Macau.

Mak first joined Manulife in May 2019 as Head of DBS Bancassurance and, prior to his elevation, had been serving as AVP, Head of Business Development & Agency Training.

Before joining Manulife, Mak was Commercial Bank Insurance Distribution Head at HSBC. Prior he spent three and a half years at Standard Chartered and spent nine years with HSBC during his first stint with the business.
