Berjaya Sompo Insurance has appointed Puriantoh Supu as head of property, engineering and energy, effective 1 July 2026, according to a LinkedIn post by the insurer.

In his return to Berjaya Sompo, Supu brings more than 20 years of experience in the general insurance industry, with expertise spanning underwriting, risk engineering, and portfolio management. He previously worked for the business from 2005 to 2011 in senior managing roles.

He most recently served as head of commercial lines underwriting at Generali Malaysia. Prior to that, he spent nearly eight years at AXA Affin Insurance, holding senior leadership positions including head of commercial lines and portfolio management and head of property, construction and engineering underwriting.

Earlier, Supu held underwriting roles at XL Catlin and Catlin and a risk engineer role at Labuan Reinsurance. He began his insurance career as a loss adjuster at Cunningham Lindsey.

Supu’s appointment follows the naming of Wai Har Soo as chief executive officer of Berjaya Sompo Insurance Berhad in March this year.
