Arch Insurance Australia has appointed Dave Ha as senior executive assurance underwriter, effective immediately, the insurer announced on Tuesday.

Based in Melbourne, Ha joins Arch after over three years at DUAL Australia, where he most recently as a senior underwriter in financial lines.

He will focus on Arch’s Southern Region, covering Tasmania, South Australia and Western Australia, and report to Mark Cocks, executive assurance Southern Region underwriting manager, Arch said. His remit includes the growth of Arch’s executive assurance portfolio across the mid-market and corporate segments, across lines of business including D&O and management, employment practices, statutory, and crime and associations liability.

He brings 19 years of insurance industry experience, having previously held financial lines and liability underwriting roles at Allianz Australia, QBE, and Meritz Fire & Marine Insurance, as well as earlier underwriting and claims roles at AIA and AA Insurance NZ.

Commenting on the appointment, Cocks said: “As we continue to grow our presence and expand our capabilities across the Southern Region, Dave’s depth of experience, technical expertise and proactive approach to broker engagement will be invaluable.”

The announcement follows other recent appointments made by Arch, including Fariha Neda as northern region executive assurance underwriting manager and Arion Reuter as senior professional indemnity underwriter.
