Arch Insurance Australia has appointed Arion Reuter as senior professional indemnity underwriter, effective immediately, as the insurer looks to expand its Southern Region PI portfolio.

Based in Melbourne, Reuter joins Arch after a two-year stint at Newline Group, where he most recently served as a PI underwriter. He brings eight years of industry experience, including as a financial lines underwriter at Chubb and in the broking sector at IBG Insurance Brokers.

In his new role, Reuter will support the growth of Arch’s professional indemnity book across Tasmania, South Australia and Western Australia. He reports to Carey Sturgiss, PI Southern Region underwriting manager.

Commenting on the appointment, Sturgiss said: “We’re delighted to welcome Arion to our PI team. His extensive market knowledge and well-established network of regional broker relationships make him ideally positioned to support the continued growth of our relevance and development of Arch’s Southern Region PI portfolio.”

The announcement follows a series of recent appointments at Arch Insurance Australia, including Aisling Hegarty as head of professional indemnity, Carey Sturgiss as Southern Region PI underwriting manager, Andrew Whitlock as Northern Region casualty underwriting manager, and Brendon Terry and Jarrod O’Connor as regional branch managers.
