Lockton has hired former Aon veterans Evelyn Hoh as senior vice president and marine claims advocate for its regional transportation business in Asia and Fen Ngai as vice president for regional operations in Asia.
Hoh joins the business after over 18 years at Aon, where she served as head of marine for its facultative reinsurance solutions business in Asia. She has more than 20 years of marine insurance experience across broking, reinsurance and claims advocacy, covering risks ranging from hull and machinery to cargo and shipyard liabilities.
In her new role, she will help corporate clients resolve complex marine, cargo and logistics claims across borders. Hoh will also work with insurers to secure recoveries and advise clients on claims trends and loss prevention.
Speaking on the appointment, Sung Wook Han, Lockton’s head of marine and transportation for Asia, said: “Her breadth of experience, technical expertise and strong market credibility will strengthen our claims advocacy and our ability to provide strategic advice when clients need it most. Evelyn will also play an important role in advancing our ambitions for the Marine & Transportation business in Asia and delivering exceptional outcomes for our clients.”
Meanwhile, Ngai joins Lockton in a newly created role on 2 November. Ngai brings more than 15 years of experience in transformation, project management and operating-model design, including nearly eight years at Aon, where she managed regional transformation projects, including the rollout of in-house applications across six Asia-Pacific markets.
Before Aon, she held project management roles at AIA Singapore and Marsh and worked in technology and change management at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
Reporting to Philip Corrigan, Lockton’s regional chief operating officer for Asia, Ngai will lead process reviews across the region’s broking and shared services teams.
“Fen brings extensive experience leading transformation and operating model initiatives across complex organizations, together with a highly collaborative approach that aligns strongly with our culture,” Corrigan said.
The announcements follow Lockton’s recent appointments in the region. Last month, the broker opened its Wellington office, naming Felix Ukaegbu general manager and James Earwaker client director for financial lines. Meanwhile, Joe Leung joined its Hong Kong people solutions team as senior vice president of business development.
In September, the broker appointed Singapore-based Alex Bursak as regional director for credit in Asia and Evan Moore as head of real estate in Sydney.
