HDI Global has appointed Ecton Chung as Senior Underwriter, Engineering in Singapore, the company announced via LinkedIn on Wednesday.
Chung has 18 years of experience across the (re)insurance industries and joins after six years with MAPFRE. His previous experience includes time at QBE, SCOR, and FM.
“Ecton brings cross-disciplinary expertise by leveraging his risk engineering skillsets into underwriting across Property, Engineering, Construction, Power, and Renewable Energy,” HDI said, adding that his established market connections and strategic insight will help strengthen the business’s regional team.
The move follows a series of strategic hires across Asia Pacific, including last week’s appointment of Jeremy Wang as Underwriting Manager in Singapore as part of its regional financial lines expansion. Recent moves in Australia and Japan also include Vijay Brundavanam, Peter Button, Kunihiko Suzuki, and Miyuki Sawada.
