Pacific Life Re has appointed Jane Cheng as vice president, client solutions, protection, the company announced on LinkedIn on 16 February.

Cheng joins after 18-years at NMG Consulting, where she most recently served as partner, high-net-worth reinsurance for global, Asia-Pacific, and South Africa. Her 20-year industry experience also included time at AIA, where she served as an actuarial analyst.

In her new role, Cheng will lead the reinsurer’s global client solutions team across business proposition, global enablement, and marketing.

“Jane brings deep expertise across the insurance and reinsurance industry, with prior corporate and consulting experience spanning Asia-Pacific, EMEA, and the UK,” Pacific Life Re commented on the appointment. “Her global perspective, sector specialisation and strong commercial focus will be instrumental as we continue to strengthen our client partnerships and accelerate growth.”

Cheng’s designation follows Jia Yi Tan’s appointment as Pacific Life Re’s new global chief underwriting and claims officer last month. She succeeded Andrew Doran, who was promoted to CEO of UnderwriteMe, the reinsurer’s insurtech subsidiary, in 2025.
