NorthStandard has elevated Jack Marriott-Smalley to Head of Underwriting for Asia Pacific, the business announced on Monday, 3 November.

Marriott-Smalley has been with the firm since 2021, most recently serving as its Head of Southeast Asia Pacific, operating out of Singapore. Before joining NorthStandard, he spent nearly 12 years at Charles Taylor across underwriting roles.

According to NorthStandard, Marriott-Smalley has been “pivotal in strengthening the Club’s presence across the region.” In his expanded remit, he will focus on driving NorthStandard’s strategic position in Asia-Pacific, developing talent, and closely collaborating with members, brokers, and joint venture partners.

Mike Hustler, who was appointed as NorthStandard’s new Head of Asia Pacific on 21 October, underscored Marriott-Smalley’s extensive expertise and understanding of the region. “We are confident that under his leadership, NorthStandard will continue to grow and deliver exceptional value to our members,” Hustler said.

Commenting on the announcement, Marriott-Smalley expressed his excitement about the opportunities in the role. “Asia Pacific is a dynamic and diverse region, and having worked across its markets for over a decade, I’m passionate about continuing to build strong relationships and delivering underwriting excellence,” he said.
